What we collect
Fresh Food Connect collects non-personally identifying information such as browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visit. We also gather IP addresses from logged-in users.
Account information
Users who create accounts provide personally identifiable information including phone number and zip code. By creating an account, you are willingly and knowingly providing us with personally identifiable information. We use this to connect you with pantry partners in your area.
How we use your data
- To connect gardeners with local pantry partners
- To send SMS notifications about pickups, deliveries, and impact updates
- To process donations via Stripe (we never store credit card numbers)
- To track aggregate impact metrics (lbs shared, families fed)
We never sell your data. We never share your phone number or address with other users except as needed to coordinate produce pickups (e.g., a courier receives a pickup address).
Produce pickup safety
All produce must be left at an outside location at the pickup location. Couriers and volunteers are not permitted to enter any residence.
Content rights
You retain ownership of any content you submit (harvest logs, garden descriptions, photos). By submitting content, you grant Fresh Food Connect a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free right to use, reproduce, and distribute your content in connection with operating and promoting the service.
Cookies
Fresh Food Connect uses cookies to identify and track visitors, their usage of the site, and their preferences. We use a language preference cookie (ffc_lang) and an affiliate attribution cookie (ffc_ref, 30-day expiry). You can disable cookies in your browser settings.
Data deletion
You can request deletion of your account and data by emailing info@freshfoodconnect.org. We will complete deletions within 30 calendar days.
